2
Leigh Anne and Linda were just returning to Linda and Nick’s place after her doctor appointment. The ultra sound had shown that they were having a little girl and Linda was overwhelmed with joy.
“When are you going to tell Nick?” Leigh Anne asked as they went into the house.
“Well, I guess I could tell him when he calls, but I’d much rather do it in person.” Linda squealed.
“If you can stand to wait you could tell him this weekend when you fly out to see him.” Leigh Anne smiled.
“That’s true.” Linda thought out loud. “I’m just glad that it’s okay for me to fly still. It’s only been one night and already I miss him like crazy!”
“Newlyweds.” Leigh Anne teased.
“Hey, we’ve been married for almost two years.” Linda defended.
“Like I said, newlyweds.” Leigh Anne laughed. “Well, Brian and I still act the same way sometimes.” She confessed. “We’re just more discreet about it.”
Linda checked the caller ID and saw that her sister’s call was the only one she had missed while at the appointment.
“Did he call?” Leigh Anne asked.
“Not yet.” Linda shrugged. “He will though. He always does. I’m tempted to call my sister and let her in on the good news but Nick would be devastated if he was the last to know.”
“Yeah, you’re probably right there.” Leigh Anne agreed.
Linda got some iced-tea from the fridge and poured them each a glass.
“So, Leigh,” she said as she sat down. “How come Nickolas is going to be a father before Brian is?” she asked.
“Well, you know how busy I’ve been.” Leigh Anne said. “First it was Olive Juice, and from there my life turned upside down. Brian’s busy schedule doesn’t help either.”
“I understand that.” Linda added.
“Yeah, Brian and I just discussed children the other night, actually.” Leigh Anne continued. “Since the Boys get a good break after this tour wraps up and I’ve been considering taking a break from the movie scene, I think we’re finally in a position where we can settle down and start our family.”
“That’s great, Leigh!” Linda said excitedly.
“I know, but do you realize we’re going to be raising the next generation of TRL superstars?” Leigh Anne laughed.
“Uh-huh!” Linda smiled. “We’re in for it.” They both laughed out loud and were startled when the phone rang.
